Character of the breed:
The Porcelaine is a breed of dog originating from France. It is believed to be the oldest of the French scent hounds. Its alternate name is the Chien de Franche-Comté, named after a French region bordering Switzerland. This caused a debate over the dog's origin, but it has been decided that it is a French dog.
The Porcelaine is an ellegant, noble, vital and friendly dog with a beautiful sonorous voice. It is also a cheerful, enthusiastic and tenacious hound. The appearance is very noble and French and in every detail of its structure represents the highest quality. We are trying to popularize this wonderful breed mainly as a wonderful companion in the Czech Republic.
Our expierence:
Porcelaine has friendly and open character, it is anybody´s friend. But this doesn´t mean it can´t enforce it´s own place in the kennel. It is a very intelligent dog, easy to handle even in wildlife. Within the training they are able to learn very quickly and that´s why they are proper for different sport activities. We have started with agility and obedience. Thanks to their loveliness and absolute non-conflict character, you will not be able to punish hem and afterwards you will find out it is not even neccessary. Porcelaine is very friendly and fearless, and can be rather independent. Very quickly adapts to new environment and wherever you put his comfy couch, he will be satisfied there. He is a pleasant companion at home and good watchdog when outside in the garden.
